- SUSTAINABILITY IN THE AI INDUSTRY -

The utilisation of cloud computing an AI can be energy-intensive, however, Sendient is focused on minimising our environmental impact, with a carbon neutral goal by 2035. We actively collaborate with environmental organisations to promote sustainability. Through our membership of both Tech Zero and Ecologi, we are actively taking steps to minimise our environmental impact, wherever possible.

Commitment to Tech Zero and Sustainability

As part of our dedication to sustainability and environmental responsibility, Sendient is deeply committed to adhering to the Tech Zero principles. We recognise the urgent need to reduce our carbon footprint and actively contribute to the global effort to combat climate change. As we work towards becoming carbon neutral by 2035, we have implemented several strategic initiatives aimed at minimising our environmental impact across all operations.

Sendient's Energy-Efficient Solutions

One of our primary focuses is on deploying energy-efficient smart management systems throughout our operations. These systems are designed to optimise energy usage, reducing waste and promoting sustainability. In addition to these digital solutions, we have integrated air-source heat pumps within our infrastructure, significantly reducing the carbon emissions associated with the heating of our premises

Defining and Addressing Emissions

We have taken proactive steps to define our emissions, using the Tech Zero scoping toolkit. Due to the nature of our business, our primary efforts are concentrated on reducing Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions. Our Scope 2 initiatives involve focusing on indirect emissions from purchased electricity, heating, and cooling. In addition, we have a major focus on minimising Scope 3 emissions, which include all other indirect emissions in our value chain, such as cloud service energy consumption.

- PARTNERSHIPS AND OFFSETTING INITIATIVES -

In parallel to our reduction efforts, we are proud members of Ecologi, an environmental platform that supports impactful climate action through tree planting and carbon offset projects. Despite being only a year old, Sendient has already planted hundreds of trees as part of this initiative. As our reliance on cloud services grows, particularly with the associated increase in energy consumption, we plan to offset these emissions through the Ecologi platform. By continuously planting trees and investing in carbon offset projects, we are actively working to balance our environmental impact.

Our long-term sustainability goals are aligned with the Tech Zero roadmap. In collaboration with industry experts, we are building a comprehensive carbon-neutral plan that will guide us towards our 2035 target. By focusing on innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainable practices, we are ensuring that our contributions to the AI industry are not only leading-edge but also environmentally responsible.
